Sex and the City 2

Went to see this film last night at 7:30 p and it was almost a full theatre and on a Thursday night, too!  There were ladies meeting up with co-workers, friends and family it was amazing.  There was a token guy here and there in the audience but mostly women.  We all laughed and hooted at the same parts it was really fun.

I really enjoyed it and it seemed everyone else did also.  My fav part was when they were at the nightclub.  If you saw the series and the first movie, well it just takes off from there 2 years later.  Go grab a girlfriend and go see it.  Tell the film making world that women want to see more movies for women!

This weekend is a long one, 3 whole days, thank goodness.  Still just chippin' away at the smallish projects to get done before the house goes on the market.  Mostly gardening for me in the half round in the very front of the property.  Finally, I will get some plants in there so it will have curb appeal for potential buyers.  Also...so I don't have as many potted plants to take with me when we move!  I got a couple slip covers for some furniture and will put those on this weekend, too.

I hate moving.  But I'll save that for another post.  Have a fantastic weekend and why not take in a movie??

Carlsbad Flower Fields

Hi and welcome! Two brothers, my sis and mom along with 2 nephews and my niece and of course me, spent mother's day amongst the flowers in north San Diego county in a semi famous place called the Flower Fields.  It is an actual working farm where they grow the world's supply of Ranunculus Tecolote bulbs.

They are only open for about 3 months of the year with the last day being Mother's Day.  It was a cool breezy day with the sun peeking thru here and there.  It was sure beautiful and well worth the drive.

Those are condominiums up on the hill and if you lived there you could see the flowers in bloom each year!

At the Flower Fields we rode the hay wagon:

We saw a bonsai show.  These were my favorites:

Then the kids played in the Santa's Village mini-park:

Then we worked our way over to the sweet pea maze where I got all mixed up and had to get help from my niece to get outta there!

It was a very fragrant place to be lost in.

Then we headed over to TGI Fridays restaurant as we were all famished after a day in the outdoors with mother nature.

Hope you get a chance to visit next year.  Have a lovely weekend!

My Next Project

Here's my first attempt at making something I hope will turn out nice enough to be caught wearing out in public!  It's the Sea Breeze Top, a free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn.  I'm making it out of Lily Sugar and Cream Twist cotton yarn.

I'm making my swatch right now so I get the gauge right!

Now that my blanket is at the next stage of laying it out and deciding placement, I needed a project that I can carry to work with me.  Somehow, the thought of having a big 'ol blanket on me sewing it up together when it was 80 degrees F. outside today, just doesn't sound pleasant or practical.  Hope you are making progress on whatever things you are working on and thanks for stoppin' by.
