Holiday Lights For You

Hi there.  Take a look at Bill my postman, who is part of Santa's team a few days before the big day.  Doesn't he look cute and festive?  He told me later that while on his route that day walking around, he got a lot of thumbs up and whistles!

Here are more of Flora's decorations:

So much work!!  She has help of course.  She doesn't get on the roof anymore since a few years ago she got stuck up there until someone could help her down.  She starts in just before Thanksgiving and then the day after she is all ready to flip the switches and on goes the display.  This year, she added some more to her abundant collection.  She now has a Mickey and Mini Mouse on a teeter totter and some others.

Well, tonites the big nite and a new decade.  I sure hope it's a better one for most people overall.  I always ask Santa for PEACE (in the world), that is all I want for Christmas every year.  I hope you are celebrating in whatever way makes you happy tonite and that you are with people you love.

Here's to a wonderful 2010!!

My Own Personal Frosty

HELLO!  Whew, it's been awhile since I've been here!  Hope you've been good and Santa brought you some nice things while I've been gone.  What a whirlwind of a month and the years almost over, wow.  My lovely neighbor Flora, loves to decorate at Christmas time and she goes all out on her house and the home she owns next door, too.  This is Frosty the Snowman from my kitchen window, my own personal Frosty who kept me company when I spent many long nights baking too many cookies!  There he stood glowing in the darkness continuing to wish me a Merry Christmas and saying, MAKE MORE COOKIES, MORE COOKIES!

Here he is in the morning.  No, there isn't any snow on the palm tree in the background!

Oh, how I wanted to write and tell you of our busy days here at the shop but no, I had to leave to make cookies!  AND what a shame, I didn't take one photo of all the cookies I made and decorated....I just was too tired at the end of the night.  We didn't decorate at home, only at the shop this year and so this cookie making, was my decorating and contribution to the Christmas party at my sister's home.  More pix coming in the following days.
Hope you are all cozy and ready for New Years Eve!

It's beginning to look allot like Christmas (Cactus)

Hello!  Hope you have all recovered from the huge turkey dinners last week!  I spent most of the day cooking even though I only got a turkey breast this year, bought one pumpkin pie, canned cranberry sauce and yes I did I got instant mashed potatoes!  It's the stuffing, gravy and candied yams that kept me busy.

We haven't been busy yet here at the shop and it's Dec 2nd already.  I wonder how busy we will be.  Are people going to ship gifts this year?  Hmm, time will tell.  I've been busy listing items onto Ebay and my auctions are doing ok.  I started putting the trim on the jacket, I'll show some pix soon.

Enjoy the Christmas Cactus!

This is the dark pink one.  It's become a large plant over the years.

This is the light pink one.  This is what they look like just before they open:

Here is the red one.  I moved it outside last year so it would do better:

Hope you are getting some time for yourself to make this your best holiday season ever!
